There is a variation in exercises to be competed depending on if you have already completed a 200+ hour adults general yoga teacher training or not. Plan to allocate at least 10 hours for the remaining Level 2 work - though some students may spend longer.

1. First Time Teacher Trainees (not Adult Yoga Teachers): Exercises 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

2. Adult Yoga Teachers: Exercises 1, 4, 5, 6



EXERCISE 1 

CAREFULLY READ & FAMILIARISE YOURSELF THE LEVEL 2 MANUAL
& WATCH ALL THE VIDEO'S ON THIS PAGE.

​- After watching the videos practice teaching them yourself & record your self teaching one of these asana 

ACTION: Post a video of you teaching one of these asanas demonstrated in the videos below to the facebook group


Make sure you read clearly the Anatomy & Physiology section of your manual

EXERCISE 2 (First time teacher trainees only)

MASTERING ASANA MIRROR EXERCISE

1. In front of a large mirror practice all of the 22 asanas listed in the Aim & Avoid section of the Level 1 Manual (see pages 34-44)

2. Look to check if you are doing anything that doesn't correspond with the correct alignment of the pose.

3. With the capacity of YOUR bodies flexibility, work to see how your body can clearly demonstrate the pose.


EXERCISE 3  (First time teacher trainees only)

MASTERING ASANA DOCUMENTING EXERCISE

1. Following on from Exercise 2, Select 20 of the Asanas of the Aim & Avoid section of the Level 1 Manual (see pages 34-44)

2. Get someone to photograph you in all these poses, demonstrating correct alignment for your body.  An iPhone is fine. 

3.  Add all these photos into a word document (or similar).

4. Next to each photo add the English & Sanskrit name 

​NOTES: You do not need to do a photo of the "Avoid" aspect,

rather you are photographing yourself doing the pose as well as possible for your body


EXERCISE 4
CREATE A 4 WEEK YOGA PROGRAM
Create 4 lesson plans for the Primary or Juniors Age Group.

Lesson Plan:

One of the lessons should the first class in the series. Two lesson plans should include a theme.


You DON'T needs to write out everything you'll say, but you do need to put enough thought and details into it.

Show me what you've learnt. (This is the most common piece of work that is asked to be resubmitted due to insufficient detail)

Use the template framework provided in your Level 2 Manual and Handouts, but please type out your plan.


State on your lesson plan;
- The age of the kids
- The context (in-school program or after-school program etc)
- Where these lessons sit within a 10 week plan

- Re Exercise 4 below, state on your lesson plan which part of it is being filmed and submitted).

- These will be submitted by email to Yogakidshomework@gmail.com, but not until you have completed all tasks and submitted your final filmed teaching practice to the Facebook group.


EXERCISE 5
SOLO TEACHING PRACTICAL
1. FILM yourself teaching 5 minutes of one of your lessons from the lesson plans from Exercise 4.
2. SHARE the 5 minute video to the private LEVEL 2 FACEBOOK GROUP.​

3. WATCH & PROVIDE FEEDBACK on 5 of your classmates videos. What did you like? What worked really well? Make comments/feedback specific to demonstrate you've watched & engaged with others work. Tips to make it even better are great, but keep comments supportive & encouraging :-)

Note; you can film on your phone or computer. Make sure we can clearly see you.


EXERCISE 6 (For adult yoga teacher only)

KIDS YOGA SHORT ESSAY

Write approximately 500 words (typed) on what you see as the key essential points to remember when teaching yoga to children. What are some stand out difference in teaching kids to teaching adults? Include how you will vary your teaching for Juniors, Primary, Teens & Family yoga. How will you vary your asana instruction when teaching children as opposed to teens,



SUBMITTING YOUR WORK
FIRST STEP

Submit to the Level 2 Private Facebook group
1.
1-2 key points you learnt about Kids Yoga Anatomy and Physiology (Exercise 1)

​2. A video of you teaching one of the asanas demonstrated in the videos below (Exercise 1)
3. Your 5 minute Solo Teaching Practical video (Exercise 5)

4. Supportive feedback on 5 of your classmates Solo Teaching Practical (Exercise 5)

SECOND & FINAL STEP:

** Please read this step carefully & follow all the instructions.
Submission that do not follow these steps will need to be resubmitted ***

Email IN ONE EMAIL 
- 1. Your 4  lessons plans. This MUST BE SENT AS ONE DOCUMENT (Exercise 4)
- 2. The Mastering Asana Document you create (Exercise 3 for first time Yoga Teacher Trainees), showing yourself demonstrating 20 key yoga poses, with the accompanying text. (Send as one document, not individual photos)

OR your Kids Yoga Essay (Exercise 6 for Adult Yoga Teachers).
- 3. Your completed and signed 'Final Submission Checklist' form (this will be emailed to you closer to the submission date).


Title your email "Your name_Completed Level 2 Work Submission".

This email (along with your Facebook submissions) must be received by MARCH 31ST, and sent to yogakidshomework@gmail.com (not our regular email).


Note: the email address Yogakidshomework@gmail.com should only be used for submissions, not questions or other communications. Use info@yogakidssa.com.au for regular communications.

ALL TASKS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RECEIVED BY MARCH 31ST, 2025
Please note these due dates are firm. 


EXTENSIONS: To apply for an extension email info@yogakidssa.com.au before MARCH 30TH, explain your reasons and attach a Doctors Certificate or similar. Extension requests must be submitted by in writing by email and not by phone, text or facebook. Maximum extension time is until the 7th of April.


MARKING PROCESS: Lindy will provide feedback on submissions between the 8th - 10th of April. If no revision or clarification is needed, you will receive your final 50 Hour Level 1 & 2 Certificate along with your feedback between the 8th - 10th of April.
